Itineraries

Day 1:

Airport Pickup – Dambulla – Sigiriya

  • Your Sri Lankan journey begins the moment you arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport. Our friendly representative will greet you with a warm smile and a traditional garland, giving you a true taste of local hospitality.
  • We'll head north into Sri Lanka’s famed Cultural Triangle. On the way, stop to explore the remarkable Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring five ornately painted cave shrines filled with ancient Buddha statues and colorful murals.
  • From Dambulla, we continue to Sigiriya, where you'll check in at your hotel and enjoy a relaxing lunch either at the hotel or a nearby local restaurant.
  • In the evening, get ready to ascend the world-renowned Sigiriya Rock Fortress a 5th-century citadel built by King Kashyapa. The climb rewards you with unforgettable views, ancient frescoes, and beautifully symmetrical gardens.
  • Return to your hotel for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Day 2:

Sigiriya – Jaffna

  • After an early breakfast, we set out on a scenic drive toward Jaffna, a city rich in Tamil culture and colonial heritage.
  • Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and savor a traditional Jaffna-style lunch with unique Northern flavors.
  • Begin your exploration with a visit to the sacred Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil, a vibrant Hindu temple known for its towering gopurams and spiritually rich atmosphere.
  • Next, head to the Jaffna Fort, originally built by the Portuguese and later fortified by the Dutch. Wander its walls and enjoy sweeping views over the surrounding lagoon.
  • Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:

Jaffna Exploration Day

  • After breakfast, enjoy a culturally enriching day.
  • Start with a peaceful ferry ride to Nagadeepa Purana Vihara, a sacred Buddhist temple located on a small island believed to have been visited by Lord Buddha.
  • Then, visit the Keerimalai Hot Springs, a spot long cherished by locals for its natural healing waters.
  • After lunch, spend some time at Casuarina Beach, one of the region’s most beautiful and calm beaches-perfect for a swim or quiet relaxation.
  • In the evening, stop by the Jaffna Public Library, a powerful symbol of local cultural pride and resilience.

Day 4:

Jaffna – Trincomalee

  • After breakfast, we begin our journey southward toward the coastal city of Trincomalee.
  • Upon arrival, check in at a beachfront resort and enjoy a laid-back lunch with ocean views.
  • Start your afternoon with a visit to the revered Thirukoneswaram Temple, perched on Swami Rock and dedicated to Lord Shiva.
  • Walk through the historic Fort Frederick, a colonial-era stronghold now partially occupied by the military.
  • Don’t miss Lovers’ Leap, a cliffside viewpoint steeped in romantic legend and offering stunning sea views.
  • In the evening, relax on the peaceful shores of Nilaveli Beach, ideal for a dip or a sunset walk.
  • Dinner and overnight at your resort.

Day 5:

Trincomalee – Kandy

  • After breakfast, check out and head toward Kandy, the cultural heart of Sri Lanka, nestled among misty hills.
  • En route, we can make an optional stop at the Kanniya Hot Springs, believed to be over 1,000 years old.
  • Arrive in Kandy and enjoy a local lunch before visiting the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses one of Buddhism’s most important artifacts.
  • In the evening, experience the vibrant Kandyan Cultural Dance Show featuring traditional music, acrobatics, and folklore.
  • Stop for some shopping at Kandy City Centre (KCC), the town’s modern shopping mall.
  • Check in at your hotel, followed by dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 6:

Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

  • After breakfast, drive through scenic hills and lush tea country en route to Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England” for its colonial-era charm and cool climate.
  • Visit a working tea plantation and factory to see how Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon tea is made-and enjoy a tasting session, of course!
  • Stop at Ramboda Falls, a stunning natural waterfall nestled in the hills.
  • After arriving in Nuwara Eliya, enjoy lunch and head to Gregory Lake for a boat ride or a gentle walk.
  • Visit the Seetha Amman Temple, tied to the legendary Ramayana epic.
  • Optional visit: Explore either Victoria Park or Hakgala Botanical Gardens based on your interest.
  • Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 7:

Nuwara Eliya – Kataragama

  • After breakfast, drive south to the spiritually significant town of Kataragama.
  • Upon arrival, enjoy a local lunch and then visit the Kataragama Temple, a pilgrimage site revered by Buddhists, Hindus, and Muslims.
  • Continue to the tranquil Sella Kataragama, a peaceful riverside shrine ideal for quiet moments and reflection.

Day 8:

Kataragama – Bentota

  • Visit the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery, a sanctuary for endangered sea turtles.
  • Take a scenic Madu River Safari, weaving through mangroves and small islands, with stops for fish foot therapy and a visit to Cinnamon Island.
  • If time permits, explore Brief Garden, the artistic home of Bevis Bawa, filled with lush landscaping and sculpture.

Day 9:

Bentota – Colombo – Airport

  • After breakfast, check out and head to Colombo, the bustling commercial capital.
  • Enjoy a brief city tour including:

    • Galle Face Green – perfect for a scenic oceanfront stroll
    • Independence Square – a grand colonial landmark
    • Colombo Lotus Tower – optional photo stop at South Asia’s tallest structure
  • Stop at ODEL or Barefoot Gallery for some final souvenir shopping.
